Celebrating our adaptive bowling team as they head to state.

The adaptive bowling team of Austin High will be competing on May 18th, 2018.  The tournament will be Friday as they qualified for the MSHSL state tournament. The state tournament will be held at the Brunswick Zone in Brooklyn Park and admission is FREE. More than 400 participants will compete for the championship in three different divisions. The team was sent off with a Pep-Fest that took place on May 17th.  Our team consist of 15 students, the Junior captain for the girls’ team is Tyra Wiles and Junior captain for the boys’ team is Tyler. They are coached by Dan Merreel he coaches for the Varsity and JV programs. The sport started in spring, March 5th , and ends with the tournament March 18th. The team practices and has its competitions at Echo Lanes bowling alley here in Austin. In recent competitions Justin Farnsworth, Pablito O, Kylee Christopherson, James L, Isaac Z, and Stephanie Vasquez were all 1st place finishers. The team captains were doing good and excited to compete. You can come to the tournament and support the team and watch the compete and hopefully take another win!!
