Mortal Kombat is an old school fighting game from the time arcade games were popular. It actually used to be on the box arcade machines, but more pixelated and the graphics weren’t as good as they are today. The game originated from a company in Chicago called “Midway Games Studio” in 1992, But the following year Midway went bankrupt and so another company called “Warner Bros” which they made a lot of the D.C characters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Women, and Aquaman. After the company took on many projects, Warner Bros left it to their developing group Nether Realms studio to create more content for their game Mortal Kombat, which the series has a reputation for high levels of bloody violence and including most notably its fatalities (finishing moves, requiring a sequence of button inputs to perform).

The series has had many great hits, especially when it was in the arcade form before moving into the PlayStation and Xbox. Before Nether Realms took over it uses to be very simple, the box had 4 buttons to press and the joystick which is very different today compared to the PlayStation and Xbox have the triggers and has a D-pad and has 2 analog sticks. The most recent game that has been released in 2011 is Mortal Kombat X (10), which was a great fit for their company it brought back the feel of having more lethal weapons and added many more characters from the original game which were Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Reptile, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Kano, Shang Tsung, Goro, and Sonya Blade.

Going into their newest game that will be released on April 23, 2019, is Mortal Kombat 11 which the trailer was released on December 6th, 2018. They plan on having a huge community event on January 17, 2019, to reveal some of the characters that will be in the official game release. The game so far has had a very long story but the main idea of the game is revolving around time travel and the company plans on bringing old characters back into Mortal Kombat 11. I’ve spoken with a player that is known for making Mortal Kombat X videos. He has over 2.9 million subscribers on YouTube and has made a very successful career out of it. His name is Jason Eugene but he goes by Faze Jev. He is part of a huge organization called Faze which known for all the gaming they do on a daily basis, for example, Call of Duty, C.S.G.O, Fortnite, and Rocket league. Aside from that, I spoke with Jason and I asked him what he thought of the game and how he felt about the gameplay. Jason’s response was “I enjoy the game a lot and I’ve had many good memories with the game and I’ve also had many bad memories along with but that’s all part of the game no game is perfect in its aspects at all.” Later that day we faced off on the game and its always been a very intense game and now going into the future where there’s going to be a new and more improved version of the game which is Mortal Kombat 11. Many things have been revealed in the trailer and we feel like many new things will be added to the game in order to make it a better experience for everyone. Looking at the trailer you pick up many different kinds of feelings when watching Raiden and the present scorpion fighting and trying to kill each other. Nether Realms made sure to keep the original characters in it but also adding new features like the weapons the player will be able to use like the spear and the small swords they carry with them.
