This Saturday night the APDT dance team took 2nd place at the Fridley invite. They rocked everybody socks off in there black and blue, dream theme costumes. The captains Cloey Thorpe, Madi Klein, and Mckenna Hotek danced great, putting on an amazing performance that really showed off their time spent on the team. Seniors Taylor Arndt and Tressie Kinney, a couple other vets on the team, had a killer outing as well. Coming off a 3rd place finish last week at Apple Valley, behind Faribault and Sartell, both medaling teams at state.

Senior Taylor Arndt has been on APDT since 8th grade, dancing almost every year, at nearly every competition and stated, “Last year, was probably my favorite year for the costume design, we dressed up as dolls, I really liked the red and purple colors on the costume, and the sparkles. My highlight of the season so far is just being able to get out there, and dance. The team had a pretty good start, but there is a lot we can improve on.”

Senior Tressie Kinney has been a dancer since 4th grade, starting out at JFK Dance Academy. She’s been dancing on. APDT since 8th grade, dancing in every competition since and shares, “My favorite costume that the team has had so far is probably the dolls costume from last year, they were different and sparkly, they really fit our theme, and they were easy to dance in. Our team is not where we need or want it to be, but it is still early. The highlight of my senior year so far is getting to do everything one last time with the girls.”

The girls are all ready showing state form, a tournament they have made it to that last 14 consecutive years, looks like this year will be number 15.
